We are Denis and Mary Beardsworth, and we have recently realised our dream of moving to a country location, where
we can breathe clean air, and our dogs can have the freedom to run around our land without any stress or distractions.
It's taken five years, but it has finally happened, and all the stress and heartache has been so worth it! We now
live in Llangyniew, 7 miles from Welshpool, and it is a fantastic place. We have sheep in the field next to us, and
(almost!) tame pheasants roam the garden, and we feed them three times a day - Mr. Phez, Gladys and the Jedwards being
4 examples.
We have been married since 1975 and have two grown-up children, Clayre and Paul, who are also married. We have
three fantastic grandchildren, Declan and Oliver, and very recently, granddaughter Niamh.
We bought our first Rough Collie in 1987. Mary had taken the kids out to look at Labradors, and they
came back with a Sable and White Rough Collie furball, that for some reason, they named 'Frosty'. We dabbled with
showing in those early days, doing a lot of Open Shows, but Frosty was not interested, so she remained
for just over 14 years, a much-loved pet. We finally had to say goodbye to her in February, 2002.
We were not ever going to get another dog after the trauma of losing her, but the gap in our lives was
too great, so we started using the internet to look up breeders and availability. We quite fancied a Blue
Merle, and thought the Wicani line looked right for us. After quite a wait, we finally travelled over
into the White Rose county to pick up Pepper - full pedigree name 'Wicani May'd of Dreams'.
Pepper has been showing almost since she was old enough, and has achieved some minor successes, but we feel
she isn't getting the places she richly deserves. In 2004, Pepper was mated with 'Wicani Dance of Darkness',
and on 11th. August, two days early, she presented us with a litter of three puppies, who were all given
names on an Olympic theme, as it was the opening ceremony of the 2004 Olympics on the 13th - the day Pepper
was actually due!
We kept Silver from that litter, and we are certain we made the right choice, as he is turning lots
of heads in the ring, and is now beginning to string together some very good results. He attended
Crufts in 2009 for the third time in four years, but this time he was joined by his mum - her first time ever.
We mated Pepper again in 2006, but sadly, the litter was never to be, and Pepper developed Pyometra, and
had to be speyed. We wanted another bitch to breed from, and after a bit of asking round, managed to obtain
Kizzy - full name 'Kazmith Thru The Lookn Glass To Maysinder'. This little lady is now herself the
mummy of three stunning boys, born on 17th. November 2008, all of whom have gone to loving forever homes.
One of these boys - Maysinder The Sorceror Charms Strobroy (Merlin) - is showing a lot of potential, and we
look forward to seeing him in the show ring. In fact, at his first ever show, he qualified for Crufts 2010! Our thanks to Loraine
and Rob Hannah for doing a cracking job with him.
On 29th. March, 2009, 'Wicani New Dreams To Hold' joined us. She is a most beautiful Tricolour bitch, and we have high hopes
for her. After what seemed like weeks, we came up with the name 'Meka' for her. She is a complete bundle of energy and has tons
of confidence. Already at ringcraft, she is showing all the good signs of being a terrific showgirl, and she has attracted a
lot of positive comments. Having celebrated her first birthday now, she has grown into an outstanding example of a tricolour
bitch, and has confidence by the bucketful
